PBP SUPERS!
Any interest, folks? I'm new to the system and really looking to learn by diving in. Ideally, I'd play rather than GM, but I have gamemastering in my soul and would consider that as well if no one's considering a game.
Won't be fussy about power level and age and such, though I suppose four-color modern heroics is mostly what I'm looking for...

Re: PBP SUPERS!
I would definitely be interested in either gm'ing or playing in a game. If I'm gm'ing, though, be warned that I prefer to run games that are a little off kilter (not just four color modern). For example, I'm thinking of a game set in the '60s where the characters would just "discover" that they had powers and also "discover" the implications to the world around them. Think X-Men First Class meets Planetary.

Re: PBP SUPERS!
I'd be interesting in playing or Judging, either way. If I ran the game, it would follow the events of X Men Destiny pretty closely where the players would be an independent group of mutants from San Francisco that get swept up in the X Men vs Brotherhood vs Mutant Defense Force drama.
Thoughts?

Re: PBP SUPERS!
Just a heads up, there are some guys over on rpol that would love to get into a supers! game. If I had the time I would run something for them, but if you are looking for players, that is a good place to start.

Re: PBP SUPERS!
I'll get my thoughts down in an intro this weekend. The basics are that it all begins Feb. 4, 1962 when all of the planets, sun, earth and moon align. Your character wakes up that night to a strange dream, and discovers that they have a strange aura about them and strange new powers. Also, the electricity has been knocked out along the northeast U.S. coast (where hopefully everyone will be based)!!! Obviously, I'm leaning more toward inherent mutant type powers, set at 25 points, but I'll make a longer post this weekend.

Re: PBP SUPERS!
Since I never got my own PbP off the ground, I'm up for playing. I might see about doing a Supers! version of Major Meteor from Harrigan's Golden Age BASH pbp, or a new character, depending on what other people have for concepts

Re: PBP SUPERS!
Sweet, more interest. Where would people want to play? I know we all try to minimize being on multiple boards... I do play a lot over at rpol.net (which has a dice roller and solid private message capabilities), so might fish over there a little as well.
And with a couple of different folks quasi-offering to judge, there's no reason we can't get more than one game rolling.
Dustland: potentially interested, but I'm afraid I don't know much about modern X-continuity.
Ruckusmanager: will be on be lookout for your post. Have some ideas already.
urbwar: would be excellent to see the Major again, though it pains me to think of that game with all the now high-and-dry cool characters.

Re: PBP SUPERS! The Setup
When the moon is in the Seventh House,
And Jupiter aligns with Mars.
Then peace will guide the planets,
And love will steer the stars.
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
The Setup:
It is very early morning on Monday, Feb. 5, 1962. It had been a fairly standard weekend in Bay City and vicinity. Some nuts on the street were shouting about the end of the world because of some alignment of the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn with the Earth and the Moon. You didn’t think much about it because those same nuts were always shouting about the end of the world for some reason or other.
And then it happened…
In a dream that seemed all too real, you see a beautiful naked woman rising up out of a mountain lake. Her soothing voice urges you to go to the Financial District. You wake up suddenly as everything starts shaking around you. It’s an earthquake!
You also realize you have superpowers. Looking down at your hands, they are surrounded by a strange aura of energy.
