Re: HAZARDous
Cool cover Walt! I have to ask though, why is the mace blurred?
Also, a completely unsolicited style opinion, I think you'd have been better served not showing the feet and the ground, just having the fog surround him looks good.
I love the detail on the folds/shading of the cape, that's something I always struggle with and you nailed it.

Re: HAZARDous
The mace is blurred as part of the special effect ( gyro mace... vibrating energy field around it). The feet... something to think about for the future.
Thanks for the praise and the advice...

Walt

Re: HAZARDous
He looks out of proportion to me. His legs seem too short (unless he's an alien and meant to be out of proportion!).

Re: HAZARDous
Near side leg is short below the knee. Something I can fix when I put it into the sketch program.

Re: HAZARDous
That's a cool angle on winged guy. You don't often see flying figures portrayed from that angle, and it looks interesting, like he's headed for something he's not aware of, or he's looking down on something he's about to dive-bomb. Nice work, man! Makes me want to start sketching again and post some stuff!

Re: HAZARDous
This "Sketch Program" you mention.....what is it? Sounds rather intriguing to someone who has often spent a couple hours on a drawing only to find a couple of things he wished he'd noticed before he applied the inks.

Re: HAZARDous
Aw man! I can't believe I missed that last Post Max! I use a combination of several different programs.
* Corell Draw (with heavy use of their photo paint program)
* Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator
* Autodesk Sketchbook Pro...
The completed image along with game stats and a few other shots are located here:
