Art From The Origins of the Zenith Universe

Hey guys and dolls.

So in this thread I am going to post art that was either drawn for me or tracings I did from the old Marvel Handbooks and DC Who's Whos since 1985! Also going to add maybe micros, Fabrica models and even City of Heroes creator pics as we go.

Not all of these are characters who still exist in the Zenith Universe (in fact the Zenith Gaming universe is like an alternate Earth to the Zenith Comic story universe, but I digress). Thought you never know, they may pop up somewhere down the road.

To start us off, here is a character that was inspired by a picture in the V&V 2nd edition rule book, who became the most important character in the old Guardians campaign.

I give you Beetle!

This was his original look. Always one of my favourites. This pencil sketch was done by my girlfriend in college, Vikki Lacoursiere.

This is another piece she did that seemed to lose a lot of the details, but added to colours.

Here is the last design she did when his armour became liquid metal that he could control and form anything he needed out of it. Yeah this would be right around the time of T2 emoticon

Here is a Micro I made for him that took me forever and a lot of help from other micro-makers to get the mask right!

And lastly here is a commission I had done by the one and only Dan Houser!

So there you have him, Beetle!

More to come I promise.

This is such a cool post. Very cool to see the "evolution" of a character over time like this. Makes me wish that I'd kept a lot of my older sketches to do the same thing here emoticon
