Because it feels arbitrary and imho, unfair. You're forcing someone to purchase another power just to make this one work like in the comics (again, imho), when there is no proof it's needed.

The source material supports being invisible as a default. That (to me) makes it part of the power, not a separate one with a complication.

Also, being in Astral form usually equates being on the Astral Plane (in comics as well as fantasy), which isn't our world. That's why you can't normally interact with the real world, because you're technically not in it when Astral (with the exception being mental powers; not even regular magic can be used to affect the real world when Astral).

Either way, that's how I would run it, so if it's changed officially (which I really hope it isn't), I would ignore that because it doesn't fit

Next power on the list is Duplication. The first thing I had to understand was this was not used for creating a character like The Mulitple Man who could create dozens of duplicates. For that I would use the summon power to create mooks. This power is more along the lines of Triplicate Girl or Duo Damsel.

The first question I have is how often can this power be used. Can I use it every round to create a new duplicate? I would rule that you could only create the initial number of duplicates and you cannot summon more every round, but I wanted to get feedback on that.

The number of dice you have to create your duplicate seems a bit weak as well. If you have a 20D character with 3D in Duplication, you only have 3D to use to duplicate your powers/aptitudes etc. Sounds much weaker than a true duplicate.

Also the power says that you can only duplicate powers that you have. I would rule that this includes the level of the powers as well so that you are not creating clones with powers greater than the original.

Let me jump in on the Astral Forum. To me, it would default to invisible and a complication would be visible.

That's how I see it emoticon

Hell the specifically say in Marvel that the Hulk can see astrally projected people, that's all the proof I need.

Thinking about it, I may have been getting too much into the Champions/MnM mindset where every aspect of the ability has to be defined.

I say we all simply post our opinions on it. Final say is up to the games creator.

Nothing has been decided yet.

Once we begin work on this, we will make decisions then.

Simon is on board to help us steer this, but please keep in mind that Walt and I will be making the final calls on these things. We of course will take our cues from Simon's thoughts, but if we differ, well that will be a bridge we cross then. emoticon

Maybe it would be enough to have a blurb in Astral Projection to say that it is up to the judge and the players to decide what the specific parameters for the Astral Form are, ie is the use Invisible?

Might be something to consider on some of the power write ups; rather than give concrete rules, simply point out the things that each group will have to decide among themselves so the issue isn't ignored.

Let me restate, I am going to officially say that Astral Projection is invisible and it is a COMP that you are visible when Astrally projected.

Of course someone could have "Super Senses" with the BOOST: See Astrally Projected.

As with anything else in a game, individuals Judges can change it to their heart's desire emoticon

That's exactly the way I ran it when one of my players had a character with Astral Projection.

I agree that it would be fine to have Astral Projections be invisible by default.

Next on my list of powers is Elemental Form, Energy Form, Elemental Control, Energy Control.

A couple of quick questions. If you have elemental form - Air, can you fly?

In my games I ruled that you could, as long as that was all you were using the power for that round. If you wanted to fly and use elemental form as a defence, you would need to purchase each power separately.

For Energy Control, I think it needs to be clarified that the energy types listed is not a complete list. For example, if someone wanted to create a greenlantern type of character, they could take energy control - force.
