Should Secret ID be a disadvantage?
I think Secret ID should be at the very least, an optional disadvantage. It does depend on the kind of game you're running. If all the heroes have family/friends/co-workers who could be put at risk if their ID is exposed, I'd consider it a disadvantage (because it provides story hooks, or sub plots, since they can get in the way, get kidnapped/hurt, etc, which adds to the story)
Same with Public ID. Sometimes it's a disadvantage, and sometimes it isn't.

Re: Revised Supers! - Ads & Disads Thread
Seems like Secret could cover Secret ID without having to write up a new Disad.

Personally, I like 4D as "peak human"(that nebulous zone where very low powered supers and the most powerful of "regular" humans overlap) with 5D being superhuman (unquestionably so). That's what I used for my Marvel Write-Ups anyway.

It could, but right now Secret is worded in a way that seems VERY extreme. Also, most characters are not written as having Secret, so I assumed that wasn't the original intent. I don't think it's a bad approach, though. We'd just need to reword the Disad.

Re: Revised Supers! - Ads & Disads Thread
You know, in general I think the Disad section can be polished up quite a bit. I think it would be sleeker if we created categories that include some of the more specific Disads already listed. Physical, Social Disads, and Mental Disads, for example, could encapsulate many of the disads that already exist and create an easy framework for adding new ones.
Yes, this is very Championsesque, but I think it works more smoothly than what we have now.
Best,

Re: Revised Supers! - Ads & Disads Thread
When I do my marvel conversions, I take the rank number and divide by ten. Therefore, an excellent rating is 2D, Remarkable is 3D, Incredible is 4D, Amazing is 5D, Unearthly is 10D+, etc.
To me, the Remarkable rating is the range where it is the threshold between extremely talented and minor superhuman. (not true of all powers. Powers by themselves imply superhuman ability.)

The tricky thing with the old MSH stats, though, is that Peak Human seems to fluctuate from Stat to Stat (if you use Cap as a benchmark).
I prefer the SAGA stats, which are far more consistent. Using those, I basically do the following:
1-4 = 1D Dr. Strange's Reaction and Fortitude
5-6 = 2D Cyclops's Reaction and Fortitude
7-8 = 3D Daredevil's Reaction and Fortitude
9-10 = 4D Captain America's Reaction and Fortitude
11-14 = 5D Spidey's Reaction and Fortitude
15-16 = 6D Iron Man's Fortitude
17-18 = 7D Thing's Fortitude
19-20 = 8D Hulk's Fortitude
Nobody's right, of course. Different strokes for different folks. I just like sharing methods and comparing notes. :-)
All the best,
Dragonfly

I like this as is. If you use an optional rule to raise the general Aptitude cap for all characters, this Advantage still ignores it. I also like that it is NOT a power, meaning it can be taken with the Normal Disadvantage (can you say Batman?).
On a similar Bat-note, I think the I Brought This Along advantage needs to be defined a bit, as in how often can it be used? I suggest once a scene with the ability to purchase it multiple times for multiple uses per scene.

Re: Revised Supers! - Ads & Disads Thread
Here is an idea.
Underdog
When the hero is facing a foe whose Dice Pool is 150% or greater then his own, he may re-use one Aptitude or Power per round of his choice.
Also,
Crafty
May always choose to use up to three Competency Dice on a Defense roll instead of just one.

Re: Revised Supers! - Ads & Disads Thread
Here's one I think the game can use:
Universal Translator
A character with this Ad speaks all languages.
