Yeah, the choke-slam was dramatic fun. It was especially cool because this particular bruiser had fought Ocelot on 2 or 3 prior occasions and in BASH, he wasn't able to touch Ocelot. So when he finally got his hands on him, it was a big moment! Later in the same fight he also slammed Ocelot face-first into a stack of crates. Of course Ocelot generally kicked, punched, and frustrated the man-mountain and won the day, but THIS was a much more cinematic fight than we had before. I think SUPERS is the perfect RPG for online play! You don't need to bother with mapping things out in detail or measuring range and movement. This style of play should work on Skype. nondisclosed_email@example.com (GWB83)Tue, 04 Sep 2012 22:11:05 +0000 Re: A brief session reporthttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p265,from=rss#post265https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p265,from=rss#post265Sounds like an awesome session! I must admit that I am jealous and wish I could get my players to consider something but Pathfinder... Fortunatly I have a friend on Skype I can occasionally play with and would love this. And choke-slamming the hero is worth extra style points in my book Chrisnondisclosed_email@example.com (Gramvandle)Tue, 04 Sep 2012 19:37:11 +0000 A brief session reporthttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p262,from=rss#post262https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p262,from=rss#post262Some of you guys may be familiar with The Astounding Ocelot campaign that I ran last year with another game. Well, we decided to give SUPERS a trial run using the old setting and characters. We only got about 90 minutes of actual playing time and about an hour of it was a big combat scene where Richard's character Ocelot broke-up a mob war between the Tong and the Russian "Kamies" (short for Kamislov) in the industrial district. The combat involved two minor villains and 8 tong thugs. Of course, Ocelot prevailed, but it was a very interesting fight! Here are some of the highlights: Ocelot used his "Fe-line" device to pull a stack of crates down and block gunfire. He used super-strength and athleticism to knock over a huge shelf. A villain used gunfire as a defense to throw-off Ocelot's leaping attack. He used bolos to trip and tie-up thugs. He did a "presence" attack to rattle one of the bad guys who was about to shoot him. A group of thugs tackled him and he wrestled them off. He used the Fe-line again to pull one of the villains from a shelf and slam him to the floor! (This may have been the biggest attack of the scene) He used super-leap ability several times to out-manuever the hapless thugs. (one of them nicked him with a lucky shot though) A big bruiser choke-slammed him! All considered, it was the most comic-book-like action I've seen from an RPG. These things happened seamlessly - without a bunch of debate about how to pull-off power stunts and such. I only referred to the rulebook twice and this was our first session! The prospect of playing SUPERS in a long-term campaign setting is looking good. nondisclosed_email@example.com (GWB83)Tue, 04 Sep 2012 18:06:08 +0000
