Re: The Hello Thread

Hello folks!

Been gaming since about 1979 and have collected comics off and on over the years since then. From 1995 to 1998 I owned a comic book store called Dragonfire Comics & Games. These days I'm a systems specialist for a phone company.

I enjoy a variety of rpg's but prefer rules-light games to most others. I've tried many superhero games over the years, everything from Champions to V&V to M&M to the old TSR Marvel game. These days if I'm running superheroes, I only run Supers! I love the game for comic book action and I enjoy the fact that I can build a character in a matter of minutes.

I have a regular gaming group but we only meet once a month and only a few of us are comic book fans so I haven't had a chance to run Supers! for them. That being said, I run Supers! for my kids on a semi-regular basis and they have really enjoyed it.

I look forward to seeing what Zenith does with the game!

Hello!

I`m a long time friend of Andrew`s, met him back when he was running a vampire game hahah!

I love all sorts of games... table top favorites are Palladium`s Recon (run by my brother) and Dungeons & Dragons (best game ever run by Matthew S!) I`ve done some LARPing, i play WoW and i`m about to pick up GW2.

As for me as a person, i just moved back to my beloved hometown Montreal after a 4 year absence. I am a fashion/beauty/SFX make up artist, as well as a freelance illustrator. I`ve done a few character designs for Zenith, though i`m not sure if they`ll be used hahaha!

Nice to meet you all!

Hi folks!
Gary Brown here. I live near Denton, TX and have been into RPGs since 1979. I work in telecom and I'm married with one child.

My gaming hobby extends into game design and over the years I've made several home-brew RPGs and sports simulations. My own Legends of Boxing is a well-regarded game in the same vein as the classic Avalon HIll game Title Bout.

The website in the sig below serves as a depository for my various gaming activities.

Re: The Hello Thread

My name is Robert McCabe, and I've been playing role playing games since 1981. I actually started with "Top Secret" unlike what all the other cool kids were doing with AD&D. I'm way into '60s spies, like James Bond, the Avengers, Mission: Impossible, etc.

In college, I got into Champions, and have been collecting superhero role playing games ever since. If there's been a superhero role playing game put out in the last 30 years, I probably own it.

I have to admit, I didn't pick up Supers! right away. Everyone seemed so jazzed about Icons at the time that I went that route, along with Supers! somewhat high price tag.

What a huge mistake! Add me to the list of gamers ultimately disappointed with Icons (I found that it's similar, and yet not similar in awkward ways, to most other FATE games). When I finally got around to picking up Supers!, I discovered this is a superhero system that I didn't even know I was looking for: Simple, yet requiring interesting strategies. I love that fact that I can look at a character and tell where the points went and if they add up. I love the fact that players are required to devise ingenious methods of utilizing their powers in offensive and defensive manners (which strikes me as very comic book-like as artists must show variations on poses and powers to keep things interesting for readers).

Hey guys, another Andrew here. I'm down in Florida, where I am happily married and spend my days educating the next generation. I teach Social Studies and Mathematics at a high school where I also run a gaming club.

I came across Supers! this summer as I was looking for a quick-play superhero game to run for my club. I've been gaming for a long time and like games at all complexity levels. While I have enjoyed Mutants and Masterminds, I knew that for the time constraints in my club I would need a quicker system. I have picked up Icons, Silver Age Sentinels, BASH!, and Supers!. The latter was my absolute favorite, and I ran a campaign this summer for some friends of mine. Sadly that ended, but I did put the write-up on the forum, so check it out if you would like.

Glad to be here, hope I can contribute to the community and build recognition for this gem of a game.

Wow, small world eh? Perhaps there is a potential comic in this teaching-by-day-superheroics-by-night-thing emoticon

I'm up in the Panhandle in Panama City, so worlds away sadly. But good to know I'm not the only Florida teacher trying to help kids not only learn but enjoy the great fun that is tabletop gaming.
