Re: The Hello Thread
If you are talking about "Project Bottlerocket" (the project that you sent me before the "big blow") yes I did and everything looks good so far. Just some minor editing stuff but if you are cool with what you have then we can move to STAGE 2!
But we spoke about adding something to it have you had time to work on that ?
Regards,
Walt

Yes. I added a couple things. Just wanted to incorporate any feedback you might have before the next Rev.

Re: The Hello Thread
I assume this is where you drop in first to introduce yourself
I am a long term player and collector of superhero rpgs (I once had every single published superhero rpg... had to pay rent and, once gone, kinda lost the spark)
Yes I had 1st edition V&V, Superhero 2044, original magazine format Champions, you name it
Supers is the first superhero rpg, other than M&M's DC Rpg because, well, DC
I hope to add some characters for Supers from some of my favourite comics (Goon, Invincible, JSA: The Liberty Files) to this site
Thanks for having me

Re: The Hello Thread
Posting here to say "hi"!
Big fan of Simon's Supers! RPG; looking forward to the revised edition, especially if the art direction in the quickstart is where the book is heading.
Have a group of kids who loved Classic Supers! and would definitely be up for playtesting the revised game.

Re: The Hello Thread
Hi folks. Harrigan reporting in, looking for discussion (and ideally a PBP game) about SUPERS! Looks like this is the right place these days.
Interesting note -- round about 2010/2011, I got dissatisfied with M&M and started hunting around for a new superhero rpg. I picked up several -- Icons, BASH, SUPERS! and a couple of older print games (Brave New World, etc.)
Icons is cool (I like Fate and Kenson) but something about the art and how it all came together didn't gel for me. BASH I loved. So much that I think I originally gave SUPERS! short shrift, overlooking it as I focused on diving into BASH. Well, as much as I think BASH is great (and I still do), I discovered, especially for the primarily online PBP gaming that I do, I needed something simpler still.
I reread SUPERS! a week ago and it was like a revelation. I "got" it, and now believe it's one of the most elegant and flexible gaming systems I've ever laid eyes on. And probably like a lot of old timers here, if there are any, I have played a LOT of systems over the years, since the early 1980s.
Most engagingly for me, I was an active member of the Fudge community in the 1990s, and always pushed the idea of being able to use *any* power to defend in the various iterations of Super-Fudge we kicked around at the time. Seeing that same idea so fully realized, and just making *so much bloody sense* in SUPERS! is just awesome. I don't know how I missed it the first time, but I'm pretty convinced I'm going to dump all other superhero games before even playing a single game of SUPERS!, crazy as that seems.
Anyway, long-winded hello.

Re: The Hello Thread
I would also really like to get into a PBP game of Supers! I think a lot of us have similar stories with trying a lot of other superhero role playing systems, but finding Supers! to be the best fit for our gaming styles.
I got started with Champions way back in the day, but it just got to be too much (especially since the majority of my role playing lately is at conventions in four hour time slots).
I tried M&M and really wanted to like it, but it always seemed to turn into a dice rolling exercise in who could roll a critical hit or fumbled resistance first.
I moved on to Icons, but it just seemed wonkier in play than it should have been (particularly concerning using hero points and the stunt rules).
I also checked out Bash, but I really struggled to figure out the math behind the archetypes (I suspect some of them may have had typos) plus they all started looking the same with the 2-2-2 in attributes.
Then, just for the sake of completeness, I picked up Supers! and read through it, discovering my favorite superhero system in the process.
So welcome to the group. I'm looking forward to more of your posts.
