TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSE
Howdy folks,
Most of you probably know about it already, but I thought I'd mention it, just in case.
The Guys' Ink (TGI) is working on a series of products that flesh out our own campaign setting, The Superverse.
The first in that product line is The Freedom Ring, which you can find here:http://www.rpgnow.com/product/103847/The-Freedom-Ring%3A-SUPERS%21-Edition
The second is The Iron Gauntlet, which will feature The Freedom Ring's arch-enemies.
Rus Boyd (AKA Dustland) is the artist for the line, and has done some AMAZING work. He's just about done with the art for The Iron Gauntlet. I hope to get it written and released by Christmas.
All the best,
Dragonfly (A.K.A. Aldo J. Regalado)

Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSE
How about a picture! Since this has been shared elsewhere I hope DF doesn't mind. This is one of my favorite from the five illustrations I did, a villain named Mammoth!

Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSE
I don't mind at all! Thanks for posting the pic, Dustland.
As far as the actual product is concern, the featured villains will be:
Grey Ghoul (arch-enemy to Freedom Star)
Mammoth (arch-enemy to Thunderbird)
Iron Maiden (arch-enemy to Maiden America)
Manite (arch-enemy to Min-Max)
Violet Revolution (arch-enemy to Itsy Bitsy)
The Sire (arch-enemy to Itsy Bitsy and Min-Max)
The Freedom Ring (which features the above heroes) also previewed one of the Gauntleteers. That would:
Skana (arch-enemy to Thunderbird)
I have ideas for a few other books. One is an organization book named UNICORN v. CHIMERA (think SHIELD v. HYDRA). Another is a book of villains led by the aforementioned Sire. The book is titled The Kingdom.
I also have a riff on the Fantastic Four planned. The concept is set in the SUPERVERSE'S Silver Age and is a sort of Atomic Horror meets the Fantastic Four meets Beach Blanket Bingo. The heroes are all powered teens, and their hero names are:
Susie Q (The Q stands for Quantum)
Rockabilly
Hot Rod
Flex Armstrong
The SUPERVERSE is a campaign setting that is developing as I imagine it. I don't have a backstory all planned out. Instead, I'm letting one book inspire the next, inspire the next, and so on.
That enough kroh? Too much, maybe? :-)
All the best,
Aldo

Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSE
For those of you who haven't seen it, here is the cover for The Freedom Ring (art by Rus Boyd!)
It's meant to be an homage to the cover of Avengers #4.

Bring on the Superverse! I'm very pleased with The Freedom Ring and I can hardly wait to see what else you guys churn out.

Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSE
Going to get Freedom Ring like soon! It looks and sounds great from everything that's been shared here. Your method of "inventing the universe as you go" sounds very refreshing, and I bet it will lead to some really cool developments.
