A printer friendly version is DEFINITELY doable. I'll try to get one up by the end of my Spring Break at the latest. I'll aim for earlier (for both the Freedom Ring and Iron Guantlet). All the best, Dragonflynondisclosed_email@example.com (TGIDragonfly)Tue, 12 Mar 2013 23:54:12 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1470,from=rss#post1470https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1470,from=rss#post1470Doh! Yes, I was talking about the red you used for Manite and Skana stats. But, as I printed it in black and white (on a laser printer, though), the red became deep black. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe a printer-friendly version could be helpful.nondisclosed_email@example.com (novaexpress)Tue, 12 Mar 2013 00:44:29 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1466,from=rss#post1466https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1466,from=rss#post1466Hey novaexpress, Thanks for the continued feedback. I assume you are talking about the red I used for the Skana and Manite stat blocks? Do you only have trouble reading it on the printed copy, or do you have trouble reading it on your screen as well? I'll add that to the things I need to tweak for the repost. Keep the feedback coming, as I want this to be as good as possible. All the best, Dragonflynondisclosed_email@example.com (TGIDragonfly)Sun, 10 Mar 2013 01:02:15 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1462,from=rss#post1462https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1462,from=rss#post1462Dragon, Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I haven't have enough time to vet all the characters. Btw, I want you to know that the background in the Manite and Skana's stats is too dark. It is a little troublesome to read them when printed. It seems that the colour of this background is different from the other characters'stats ones.nondisclosed_email@example.com (novaexpress)Sat, 09 Mar 2013 18:07:43 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1439,from=rss#post1439https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1439,from=rss#post1439Howdy novaexpress! Thanks for the questions! Mammoth's ability to avoid most damage from bows, arrows, and low-caliber weapons is captured by his Armor. If I remember correctly, he has Armor 3D, which means he's unlikely to take damage from most mundane weapons, unless wielded by the most expert of marskmen, and even then it won't be much, unless he really botches a roll. Let's face it, most mundane gunmen will have Shooting 1D or 2D. Even someone with Shooting 3D wielding an assault rifle will top off at 18 on the attack roll. If Mammoth resists such an attack with his Fortitude, it's unlikely that he'll take any damage at all from such an attack. As far as his transformation is concerned - "DOH!" He SHOULD have Instant Change. I'll add that to the list of things to fix and repost the files (but I'll wait for you to finish reading and give me your final critique). Regarding whether that makes Mammoth's "Only in Mammoth ID" Complication too generous, that's a good question, and one that I struggled with for Mammoth, Skana, and Thunderbird. In the end, I went with it because other write-ups in the SUPERS! rules-as-written utilize that construction, as do most superhero games that I've played. BASH UE is an exception, and I can see why BASHMAN went with that decision. That being said, I think if a player is getting a cost break, the Judge should feel free to play up on the fact that it is a Complication. First, I think it's just fine to declare that the Instant Change takes a full round, in this case. Second, there should be moments when these characters are caught off guard. I know that in an old Champions game that I ran, characters with this Limitation were instantly KOed in ambush situations, while lounging around HQ in their superhero IDs or otherwise distracted. They were also caught in moments where this was a drawback (like when they were operating undercover). As far as Mammoth, Skana and Thunderbird are concerned, they are all possessed by powerful extra-dimensional entities that have agendas of their own. Those other personalities are more in control when the characters are in their super-form, and this could lead them to behave in ways that run counter to their human personalities or to the interests of their allies. I would play these up, in order to make the Complication a Complication. Finally, some Powers might allow the form to be shut off. Imagine using Mind Control to force one of them to activate their instant change! :-P I certainly wouldn't allow this Complication for a character who was always in their super-form without consequences. Please keep the feedback coming! I'll make any necessary edits once you are done. All the best, Dragonflynondisclosed_email@example.com (TGIDragonfly)Tue, 05 Mar 2013 22:58:55 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1436,from=rss#post1436https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1436,from=rss#post1436Hi Dragon, Regarding Mammoth, you say that he has magical protection which heightens his resistance to damage and renders him almost invulnerable to arrows, spears and low caliber firearms. I haven't seen any magical protection in his stats. Is it the "Invulnerability to knockback" that gives these effects? Also, Giles Hunter has to turn into the Mammoth to benefit from his powers. Is it an instant transformation? Because he doesn't have the ad "Instant Change". So, does he need to spend an action to turn into the Mammoth? That should seem fair, since all of his powers got 1d offered due to the Complication. With this rule, anyone wanting to play a Hulk-like character would get 1d more in all his abilities just because he has to turn into a huge monster. And if the player buys "instant change" also, it would seem more unbalanced, I think. I mean this complication could be not so much a complication in the end. Am I missing something?nondisclosed_email@example.com (novaexpress)Tue, 05 Mar 2013 08:02:01 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1427,from=rss#post1427https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1427,from=rss#post1427Please do! The morping of the body for those purposes would be a free action in my games. Anyway, I envisioned her Super Weaponry being mace-hands, sword hands, molten metal hands, etc. I envisioned her Elemental Form serving a defensive purpose, mostly (to absorb attacks). Both can be used as attack or defense, though. Hope that helps! I'm leaning toward the latter suggestion, but... nondisclosed_email@example.com (novaexpress)Fri, 01 Mar 2013 10:23:57 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1422,from=rss#post1422https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1422,from=rss#post1422I read the extra rules and up to the grey ghoul for now. Thanks for the support! The thought of you using these guys in your next adventure just made me smile from ear to ear! :-] As far as the modifications to Thunderbird - basically, I changed his Secret I.D. name. I never really liked Max Werner. It was one of those placeholder names that I forgot to change before I went to publication. His new name is Gilbert Adler. Gilbert means "bright promise" or "shining pledge" and Adler means "eagle." It may seem cheesy, but I like these names to have some sort of subtle meaning, and that seems to match what the Thunderbird is. (I'll probably say that Max Werner is an alias he used in some caper.) :-] If you want to keep both versions of the document, make certain to save it under a different name when you download it. Again, thanks for your support! Usually, I rarely check out this folder. But, luckily, I did it today. And then, I bought right away The Iron Gauntlet. I just perused it, but it seems full of good things. And as usual, the art is excellent and so tailor-made. I could use this team in my next session if my players beat the current big baddies (see my other post in the new boost section). Anyway, I don't know if I'm your second purchaser, but I'm pretty sure to be the fist French. PS: I received your email regarding your Freedom's Ring's corrections. Do I simply have to download again the file? Where's the modification on Thunderbird?nondisclosed_email@example.com (novaexpress)Tue, 26 Feb 2013 09:39:44 +0000 Re: TGI Presents: The SUPERVERSEhttps://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1417,from=rss#post1417https://bzenithcomicspresents.runboard.com/p1417,from=rss#post1417LOL! Good 'ole snuffy! What have you become!? Mammoth is interesting for me. I made him up YEARS ago - no connection to Thunderbird whatsoever. In fact, my interest in Kaska legends started with the Attack of the Mammoth folk story that led to my creating Mammoth for a Golden Age campaign. He was far less powerful in that iteration, and you can still see hints of that in the current write-up. Thunderbird took me to the same mythology through an entirely different path. I was looking for a cool diety to model a Thor homage after, and the coolest one I found was the Thunderbird figure that appears in so much Native American mythology. Since it was a very similar mythology, I recycled the Mammoth and wove him into the story as well. All the best!
