The Justifiers of Cascadia

[Note: this is a continuation of The Astounding Ocelot campaign in which our hero forms a super-team to defend his city]

Mayor Lansing's vision of refurbishing the upper spires of Donnegan Tower to accommodate a new team of superheroes began to take shape. The foremost hero, Ocelot was recruited first, and with him some likely candidates emerged:

Feral - a new cat-themed hero, former Aldergrove Labs co-worker, and on-and-off girlfriend of Ocelot
Frost - the enigmatic cold-energy, insubstantial hero that emerged from disaster at Unitech
Tempest - a guest star from arid Centropolis who has appeared in Cascadia occasionally

But at the crucial time, three new heroes answered the call to join Mayor Lansing and Ocelot in this new program:

War Hammer - A metal-morphic brick with some stretch ability.
Jade Fang - A Hong Kong born, dragon-themed, chi-powered fighter with ties to the Changxu Tong in Cascadia that could prove helpful.
The Shield of the City - a forgotten guardian who was "decommissioned" and left in stasis in a concrete chamber under the downtown streets.

Episode #1

To start, the newly-formed team consisted of Ocelot, Jade, and War Hammer, while the Gestalt was in stasis in a forgotten chamber beneath the city. Ocelot was taking the new members on a tour when an odd tidal surge filled the expansive drainage tunnels beneath the city. This turned out to be the prelude to a Karn (sea-based aliens) invasion! The Karn raiding party was attacking The Silverwater, a ritzy 33-story condo building, as flood waters bubbled up through storm drains and manhole covers! In short, the three of them took-out 19 Karn mooks and a 50-foot tall bio-mech before the awakened Gestalt arrived on the scene. Highlight reel moments included:

War Hammer absorbing hydro-cannon shots as he charged, taking out 5 mooks in a single sweeping blow.

Jade saving a notable civilian NPC as he fell from the 20th story of the PCI building

The bio-mech using one of War Hammer's stretch weapons
against him, imbedding him in the 3rd story of the Silverwater

Ocelot using his dumb luck advantage and his steel claws for the finishing blow on the bio-mech!

Jade narrowly dodging a Karn sling artillery attack.

The Gestalt using his shield as a boogy board to ride the tidal surge to the surface

Ocelot clotheslining a group of Karn as an introduction to the disoriented Gestalt

War Hammer tangling with the Karn commander and his elite team on the top floor of the Silverwater

In the midst of all of the action, Manticore flew in and pulled an unidentified man from a top floor condominium. Jade had a brief chase and verbal exchange with him, but could not quite keep up. The scene ended with The Justifiers converging on the 33rd floor of the Silverwater as War Hammer continued to slug it out with the Karn commandos!

Re: The Justifiers of Cascadia

Episode #2

The Karn invasion concluded on the top floor of the Silverwater condominium building. Warhammer slugged it out with the Karn Leader while Ocelot and Magma mopped-up the rest of the alien commandos. Once his team was wiped-out, the Karn Leader punched through the roof and was airlifted away by a Karn dropship! The Justifiers searched the condo and found a Karn homing device that had been dropped in the fray. They figured out enough about it to lead them to hidden compartment in the suite. It was ransacked, but several documents and some valuables remained. The Karn had come for something specific. Among the documents were classified congressional intelligence sub-committee notes for Oregon Senator Pete Thornton (whom Ocelot encounter once before).

There was an interlude, where the Rose Monk appeared and cautioned Ocelot that The Changxu Tong was about to step-up their pressure on him.

And the concluding scene was a huge! Mayor Lansing held a Town Hall Meeting at the newly refurbished Century Park Amphitheater and praised The Justifiers for their action in the recent Karn attack. But the party was crashed by a newcomer calling himself Moonquake! He taunted the Mayor and implied that the city fleecing the people to fund the new super-team in Donnegan Tower. Moonquake declared that he is the new leader of ANVIL! Ocelot questioned his ability to fill Chimera's shoes and the real trouble began. Thusly enraged, Moonquake lifted 9 civilians in the air with his gravity control and dropped them, forcing The Justifiers into action! The three of them narrowly succeeded in catching all the innocents before they hit the ground. Then Moonquake called on Behemoth, who leapt into the scene - and the fight was on!

There was loads of collateral damage as Warhammer and Magma focused on Behemoth and Ocelot dealt with Moonquake. Classic moments included:
Moonquake blasting all three heroes with a gravity shockwave, smashing them into a wall!
Magma briefly capturing Moonquake in a fire trap.
Warhammer knocking Behemoth upside-down into an I-beam, collapsing part of the pavillion!
Ocelot taunting Moonquake causing Composure and Will damage!
Behemoth throwing said I-beam into Warhammer's chest and knocking him back into another section of seats.
Ocelot leaping and grappling with Moonquake in mid-air
Warhammer driving Behemoth back with a flurry of chainsaw strikes
Ocelot crashing into a force field that he didn't expect!
Behemoth blocking Magma's flame blast with heavy piece of canvas
Moonquake crushing Ocelot and a few rows of seats with gravity compression!

In the end, Moonquake felt that he and Behemoth made their point and held their own, 2 against 3, and they escaped.
