Good Gamer Karma Social Experiment
Hey all,
After getting robbed yesterday and losing way too much stuff, the biggest downer for me was that in the bag I lost were all my dice, some dating back to 1985 when I started gaming.
You can read more here;
http://earth-alpha.blogspot.ca/2012/11/good-gamer-karma-project.html
I have decided, after being inspired by my cousin Erin, to try a social experiment among gamers. Instead of buying anew dice and rebuilding my collection that way, I am reaching out and asking anyone who wants to spread the karma from one gamer to another to take any die from their current collection, drop it in an envelope and send it my way.
The goal is to build a collection of dice with good karma and part of an international community of gamers, reaching out to each other.
There has been a surprising reaction thus far and I am encouraged at the good vibes we are generating.
If you want to participate here's all you need to do;
1] Send me a PM for the shipping address, I won't post that publicly.
2] Grab a die (or dice) and throw them in an envelope and post them to me.
3] Spread the word, let's see how far away dice can come from, or heck even if we can get some famous gamers like Mr. Will Wheaton to participate.
I am more than anything curious to see how this can play out and I promise to update with pictures of all the dice that come in and post the names, dice contributed and location of the contributors.
If I reach 100 dice, I will figure out someway to give something back. Maybe fire off some free Zenith PDFs to folks, or make a donation to some charity for gaming (does one exist?)
Either way, thanks for taking the time to read this (and the blog post).
Cheers!

I wonder what it costs to mail a die from Texas to Canada?

Re: Good Gamer Karma Social Experiment
I have my lucky d6 that were used Steve Jackson (of GURPS) (although I have nothing to prove that he actually used it).
I will be heading to my old stomping grounds tomorrow. It will give me the chance to take a look to see what I have stashed away.
I should be able to find something to send.

Re: Good Gamer Karma Social Experiment
Thank you very much everyone.
This is what I am talking about, spreading this out and spreading the idea to the world of gamers.
Do I need a ton of dice?
No of course not.
Can't I just go buy replacements?
Technically of course.
So why do this?
Cause I want to build the biggest set of Karmically enhanced dice ever!
Something that has the postive energy and good times of gamers from around the world powering it!
Weird and hippie dippy, I know. But still... just seems so bloody cool to me!
PM for the address lads, and more importantly, spread the word via social media and even old fashioned word-of-mouth!
Cheers!
