Re: Supers! Availability
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Sadly, real life has taken a toll on my gaming life recently. My group had been meeting 2-3 times per month, but illness and now a big change at work (I find myself on TWO seperate projects/teams at work through most of March)will probably kill any chance to play Supers! until some time in April.
We are in the middle of a five part Superworld adventure (biggest one I've ever written actually)and I don't want to try and convert over in the middle.
Once the Superworld scenario is completed I'll try and convert over their Superworld characters for a separate, short Supers! adventure, then get player feedback.

Re: Supers! Availability
Sorry I have not been around here, nor been able to do anything yet with Supers! as work has been even crazier than I thought it would be.
On the plus side, we wrapped up that mega-adventure for Superworld.
I still plan to convert over their current Superworld characters and try an adventure or two with Supers! instead.
One player with a character named Firefly (Size change, wings, electro-blast), might have an issue since she is used to a BIG combat advantage due to her small size (half chance to be hit with ranged attacks). Is there an easy way to do this with the Supers! game system?

Re: Supers! Availability
I've had some time to go over the Supers! rules this week, and I have a couple ideas to try for Firefly (Tough Defense would work to show how hard she is to hit when shrunk down I think or just boost her Reaction).
An even bigger challenge, I think, will be the wife and her Trinity Prime character (sword and machine gun). She can create a past and future version of her modern day character. Trinity Past is a pirate-type (pistol, sword) while Trinity Future is an armored suit, plasma ball throwing, energy shield carrying hero. A pain to build in Superworld too, but I thought I hit a good balance. Being less familiar with Supers! I worry she may end up rather powerful.
On the plus side, I have a Supers! adventure 90% finished (mostly stats left) so I hope to convert over the heroes and play over the upcoming holiday weekend.

Re: Supers! Availability
It is a bit of comparing "apples and oranges" when you go between gaming systems at times. I really don't expect the characters to play the same, but it should still be fun, hopefully the increased freedom of Supers! is worth it to our gaming group (time will tell).
The image is from Heromachine.com, a great site for those of us with no artistic talent.
So, first up, Firefly. Very close to Dragonfly from the Supers! book, so this was easy.

Re: Supers! Availability
A quick question on your boost. Which power is it applied against? I could most readily see it applied to size change. Also, is your size change limited to shrinking or did you intend to give him the ability to grow to giant size as well?

Re: Supers! Availability
The second hero I'll share is Gunslinger (Old West cowboy captured by aliens back in 1877 -think Cowboys vs Aliens)who as a very simple character seems to come out fairly powerful in Supers! terms.
He was capable of inflicting a lot of damage in Superworld, but the massive drain from multiple shots of his alien pistol was his big drawback. Supers! does not really worry about tracking energy. I put down 'Limited Use' but I'm undecided how that will actually work with his alien pistol. I also noticed when you have just one power or maybe two, you have plenty of dice points to spend.
I don't have an image uploaded for Gunslinger, but he looks like a cowboy, even the alien pisol looks normal until he shoots energy bolts from it.
Oh, since these are veteran heroes, I was only using 20D as the minimum base, and figuring they would actually be a few points over.
Any comments, critiques are welcome.

The boost is attached to her flight, to represent how hard she is to hit when moving around. She can only shrink, so I see she would get a Power Complication and 1D. I might bump her Intrusion up to 4D then.

Re: Supers! Availability
Finally, for tonight anyway, is Collider. I will hold off on Trinity Prime as she is sure to be the most complicated.
Collider is your classic gravity/density controller. He was also limited in Superworld by his energy consumption, so I again took Limited Use, but am pondering how to apply it. I also think he should take Flight as a new power, even just at 1D, as he could not afford it in Superworld.
Which brings up the thought they may want to remake their characters completely for Supers! or even try new ones. Well, I'm good either way.
